According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) spokesperson Muhammad Talebur Rahman, a protest march against rape turned violent on Tuesday afternoon. Around 60-70 protesters, including men and women, attempted to march towards the Chief Adviser’s official residence, Jamuna. When police blocked their path, protesters allegedly used women as shields and tried to break through the barricade. The situation escalated when protesters attacked police officers, injuring Deputy Police Commissioner Masud Alam, two female officers, and three male constables.
