Teesta River Flowing Above Danger Level, Authorities Urge Residents to Move to Safety
Due to heavy rainfall and mountain runoff in India’s Sikkim and other neighboring states, the water level of the Teesta River has risen 20 centimeters above the danger mark. As a result, low-lying areas along the riverbanks are at risk of flooding. The Water Development Board (WDB) has issued a warning and used loudspeakers to urge local residents to move to safer locations.
