The Ministry of Culture has announced that this year’s Bangla New Year will not just be a festival for Bengalis but will be celebrated nationally with participation from all ethnic groups, including Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Manipuri, and Garo communities. To mark the occasion, the government has declared a public holiday for the day. Additionally, for the first time, a special cultural program will be held at the Shilpakala Academy on the eve of the New Year. These initiatives reflect the government’s move towards a more inclusive approach in Bangladesh.
এবার নববর্ষ শুধু বাঙালির উৎসব হিসেবে নয়, বরং চাকমা, মারমা, ত্রিপুরা, মণিপুরী, গারোসহ দেশের সব জাতিগোষ্ঠীর অংশগ্রহণ নিশ্চিত করে জাতীয়ভাবে উদযাপিত হবে। এ উপলক্ষে একদিনের সরকারি ছুটি ঘোষণা করার সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।
