Beximco Affiliate MD Arrested for Laundering Tk 34 Crore Through Fake Exports

Wasiur Rahman, Managing Director of Autumn Loop Apparels Ltd., a Beximco-affiliated company, has been arrested by CID for allegedly laundering Tk 34 crore abroad under the cover of export activities. The company failed to repatriate export earnings between 2020 and 2024, violating central bank rules. CID suspects deliberate money laundering and is investigating illegal overseas assets. A remand plea has been submitted, and the role of Salman F Rahman, Vice Chairman of Beximco Group, is also under scrutiny.

Managing Director of Beximco Affiliate Arrested for Alleged Money Laundering of Tk 34 Crore

Wasiur Rahman, Managing Director and shareholder of Autumn Loop Apparels Ltd., a corporate guaranteed affiliate of Beximco Group, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for allegedly laundering around Tk 34 crore under the guise of internal trade. The information was revealed in a press release issued by CID headquarters on Thursday.
