Visitors can now travel to Thindumukh in Thanchi and Boga Lake in Ruma. The ban, imposed in March 2023 due to anti-terror operations, was briefly lifted in 2024 but reimposed. Authorities confirmed the decision based on a law and order meeting and military input. Other areas remain restricted pending further review.
After a 23-month-long travel ban, the administration has decided to reopen the scenic Ruma and Thanchi upazilas in Bandarban to travelers. Starting Friday, June 6, select tourist spots in both upazilas will be accessible to visitors on a limited scale.
