An imam in Taltoli, Barguna, was attacked with a large knife during Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. Worshippers apprehended the assailant, Masum, and handed him over to the police. Masum claimed he sought revenge for a past incident involving his girlfriend, whom he had entrusted to a friend, only for her to be allegedly dishonored. Determined to retaliate, he had a knife custom-made for the attack. However, the targeted individual, Imam Imran Hossain, revealed that Masum had a history of theft and bore a grudge after being caught stealing a mobile phone during his madrasa days.
