Industry Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan has stated that delays in salting raw hides during Eid-ul-Adha led to lower-than-expected prices for many sellers. However, the market for salted hides remains stable. He mentioned that government efforts helped prevent widespread spoilage, with around 30,000 tons of salt distributed this year. Due to Lumpy Skin Disease, up to 30% of hides were still at risk of damage. Meanwhile, Adviser Bashir Uddin noted that some seasonal traders sold semi-rotted hides for Tk 700-800, while quality hides fetched Tk 1,200-1,300.
