Shakib Al Hasan’s relationship with the national team has ended. The all-rounder is absent from the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) recently announced new central contract. With the termination of this contract, he has now openly engaged in promoting gambling. Previously, in 2022, Shakib had tried promoting a gambling ad under the guise of a sports news website. However, as a contracted player with the BCB at that time, he faced severe criticism. The then-board officials even subtly threatened to remove him from the national team over the issue. Shakib admitted his mistake and later severed ties with the website.
