A total of 47,054 Bangladeshi pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia for Hajj as of May 6, 2026, according to the Bangladesh Hajj Office. Director Md. Lokman Hossain said 120 flights had landed in Jeddah by 10 a.m. The Hajj bulletin reported that ten pilgrims have died of natural causes—eight in Makkah and two in Madinah. Saudi medical teams have provided treatment to 14,039 pilgrims, while the IT helpdesk has assisted 11,462 individuals.
This year, 78,500 Bangladeshis have permission to perform Hajj, with 4,565 under government management and 73,935 under private arrangements. A total of 660 private agencies are operating, including 30 lead and 630 coordinating agencies. By airline, 22,010 pilgrims traveled via Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 16,953 via Saudia, and 8,091 via Flynas. The remaining 31,270 pilgrims are scheduled to arrive gradually.
The first Hajj flight departed Dhaka on April 17, 2026, and the pilgrimage is expected to take place on May 26, depending on moon sighting. Return flights will begin on May 30 and conclude on June 30.
