BNP leader and former MP Hasan Uddin Sarkar, along with other war veterans, claim Mozammel fraudulently added his name to the list. Allegations include hijacking historical achievements and tampering with war records. The Liberation War Ministry has identified 11,000 fake certificates, with more under investigation. What Freedom Fighters Said About Mozammel and His Certificate

Freedom fighter certificates were easily obtainable with money, and this was facilitated by AKM Mozammel Haque, the former Minister for Liberation War Affairs in the previous Awami League government. In exchange for money, he issued numerous fake freedom fighter certificates. Jugantor spoke with nearly 50 frontline fighters from the 2nd, 3rd, and 9th sectors of the Liberation War regarding Mozammel’s certificate. Among them was BNP central committee member and former MP Hasan Uddin Sarkar (Gazette No. 593), a key figure in the armed resistance against the Pakistani forces in Joydebpur, Gazipur, on March 19, 1971. Expressing his anger and disappointment, Hasan Uddin Sarkar questioned how Mozammel suddenly became a freedom fighter.
