Modest fashion, emphasizing elegance and cultural identity within Islamic principles, is gaining global popularity among Muslim women. The trend was recently showcased at the first Paris Modest Fashion Week, held from April 16 to 18 at the historic Hotel Le Marois, where around 30 brands from various countries presented collections featuring embroidered satin suits, flowing gowns, and reimagined traditional Muslim attire. The event carried both commercial and cultural significance in France, a country long engaged in debates over secularism and religious symbols.

Organizer Think Fashion, which has hosted international modest fashion weeks for over a decade, stated that the sector is now a vital part of the global fashion industry. According to the “State of the Global Islamic Economy” report by DinarStandard, Muslim consumer spending on clothing could reach about 3 billion dollars by 2028. The growth is driven by a rising Muslim population, social media influence, and a new generation of educated young women expressing identity through modern fashion.

Major brands such as DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, and H&M have launched special collections targeting this market, while Middle Eastern designers like Isra Allaf are redefining traditional garments such as the abaya through innovative design and cultural fusion.
