State Minister for Fisheries, Livestock, Agriculture, and Food Sultan Salahuddin Tuku stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Deshnayak Tarique Rahman, the BNP government is working with utmost sincerity for the welfare of the people. He made the remarks on Friday at the Tangail Press Club’s VIP auditorium during an introduction meeting and iftar event for the newly elected executive committee.
The minister said the government maintains a liberal and positive stance on press freedom, ensuring no interference in journalistic activities. He emphasized that journalists can perform their professional duties freely and impartially. Highlighting the importance of responsible journalism, he noted that constructive media engagement is vital for national development, democratic values, and social order.
Tuku also announced that the BNP government has waived agricultural loans up to 10,000 taka, including interest, for marginal farmers, describing it as a landmark decision expected to provide immediate financial relief. The event was attended by local officials, journalists, and political leaders.
