Chinese Investments at the Heart of Conflict in Kyaukphyu

In western Myanmar’s Rakhine State, anti-junta conflict has intensified, centering on the strategically significant port city of Kyaukphyu. The Arakan Army (AA) is aggressively advancing to seize control of the city, while the Myanmar military junta is reinforcing its presence by deploying more troops, weapons, and military equipment.
