Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Professor Dr A Z M Zahid Hossain said the BNP believes in politics of unity and advances by bringing together people from all professions. He made the remarks on Wednesday afternoon as chief guest at an exchange meeting with leaders and activists of Hakimpur upazila and Hili municipality BNP and affiliated organisations in Dinajpur.
He called for strengthening the party at the grassroots through participation of workers regardless of religion or caste, expanding membership and increasing public engagement. Zahid Hossain urged party members to earn public trust through good conduct, honesty and public service. He said leaders and activists have a humanitarian and moral responsibility to support sick, poor, disadvantaged and distressed people.
The minister said the country has adequate fertilizer stocks for Aman-season paddy cultivation, while an “evil circle” is attempting to create a fertilizer crisis. He asked the public to remain alert and instructed the administration to take strict action against any dealer or others involved in alleged plotting. He also stressed education as essential to building developed families, society and the state.
