Air Force Calls Airbase Attack Reports ‘Misleading’

The Bangladesh Air Force has dismissed reports of an attack on its base in Cox’s Bazar by local miscreants from Samitipara on Monday, calling them false, misleading, and misinformation. In a press release issued on Monday, the Air Force clarified that a local individual was taken inside the airbase from a checkpoint near Cox’s Bazar BIAM School for questioning due to the lack of proper motorcycle documents. Following this, around 200 locals from Samitipara moved toward the airbase but were stopped by Air Force personnel. As the crowd grew, a confrontation ensued between Air Force members and a group of miscreants from Samitipara near the checkpoint. Some individuals, allegedly incited by certain vested interests, threw bricks and stones at Air Force personnel, injuring several, including four Air Force members (one officer and three airmen).
