On Tuesday, civil servants from 25 Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) cadres observed a pen-down strike protesting discriminatory actions by the administration cadre. Under the banner of the Inter-Cadre Discrimination Elimination Council, the protest was in response to unjust suspensions and departmental actions against officials from other cadres. Emergency services, including hospital ERs, were excluded from the strike. Organizers announced that similar protests would be held nationwide again tomorrow.
