39 Lost Their Eyesight in Mass Uprising Over 1,000 Received Eye Treatment in July Movement

The National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, has treated 1,074 individuals who suffered eye injuries during the July mass uprising. Of them, 39 have completely lost their eyesight. The institute brought in specialist doctors from China, Nepal, Singapore, and the UK to provide expert consultation, and some critically injured patients have been sent abroad for further treatment.
