Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union, or RAKSU, said Tk 9,155,939 was allocated to its vice president, general secretary, assistant general secretary and other editors during its first 10 months of activity. According to accounts from the RAKSU treasurer’s office, Tk 6,389,759 had been withdrawn for programmes and official work as of the report published on August 24, 2026. The allocations covered offices including sports, culture, debate and literature, media and publications, research, women’s affairs, science and technology, and environment and social welfare.
The treasurer’s records said several activities remain ongoing, so some allocated money has not yet been withdrawn or related vouchers have not been submitted. The records also noted that surplus funds from completed work were returned in some sectors. Full allocations were withdrawn under several headings, including the VP’s official and overall expenses, the GS’s official and overall expenses, the AGS, women’s affairs, science and technology, environment and social welfare, and the treasurer’s office.
The accounting disclosure followed criticism over a media report alleging larger withdrawals and missing bills and vouchers. At a Sunday press conference, RAKSU leaders called that report misleading and incomplete. They said Tk 395,000 of the approved amount came from the administration and Tk 8,760,939 from the RAKSU fund, while Tk 2,371,180 remained to be withdrawn.
