Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman stated that if the party can maintain internal control, it can also govern the nation if given the opportunity. Speaking at Jamaat's Rukon Conference at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Center, he said the party aims to build a justice-based society rooted in Islam and patriotism. He claimed no party leaders have laundered money abroad and asserted that Jamaat has never committed injustice in its 54-year history. He also alleged a breakdown of the judicial system over the past 15 years.
