Bangladesh is planning to build an international-standard dockyard at Matarbari to enhance maritime infrastructure and promote the blue economy. Brigadier General (Retd.) International-Standard Dockyard to Be Built in Matarbari: Shipping Advisor

To improve maritime and navigable waterways, modern methods and unified standards are being ensured in hydrographic surveys and the preparation of nautical charts, and there are plans to construct an international-standard dockyard in Matarbari, said Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hussain, Advisor to the Ministry of Shipping and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
