Face-Down: Tk 35.5 Crore Drinking Water Project in Bhangaura Left Non-Functional

Despite being launched over a decade ago, a Tk 35.5 crore project intended to provide arsenic-free drinking water in Bhangaura Municipality, Pabna, has yet to become operational. Rampant irregularities and corruption have left the project in disarray, yet the municipality continues to pay salaries and allowances to six employees recruited for it. This has resulted in an extra annual expense of nearly Tk 20 lakh, while residents remain deprived of the intended civic service.
