The much-discussed meeting between Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman was finalized during a BNP Standing Committee meeting, with Tarique joining virtually from London. The initiative reportedly came from the interim government after Yunus’s UK visit was announced. Despite days of speculation, both parties remained silent until the decision was confirmed. The meeting is set for June 13 at London’s Dorchester Hotel. BNP leaders believe it could ease political tensions and influence the country’s future political direction.
On Monday, Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, left Dhaka for the United Kingdom on a four-day official visit. He arrived at London’s Heathrow Airport on Tuesday at around 7:05 AM local time via an Emirates Airlines flight.
