Sarjis Alam, Chief Organizer of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) for northern Bangladesh, has stated that Gopalganj is not the personal property of any individual or political party but a rightful part of Bangladesh. In a Facebook post, he cited a local resident’s frustration with Sheikh Hasina’s defensive posture, highlighting growing public discontent. Sarjis emphasized the party’s vision of building a Bangladesh where no region, including Gopalganj, faces discrimination. He also mentioned the upcoming 'March to Gopalganj' program scheduled for July 16.
