UK to Ban Sale of Energy Drinks to Minors
The United Kingdom is introducing a law to ban the sale of energy drinks to minors. Under the proposed legislation, anyone under the age of 16 will not be allowed to purchase energy drinks from shops, restaurants, cafés, vending machines, or online. Currently, about one-third of children in the UK consume such beverages, although most supermarkets have already imposed their own restrictions on selling them. Wes Streeting, the UK’s Minister for Health and Social Care, stated that parents, teachers, and children had urged the government to take action on this issue.
