According to preliminary results published on February 12, 2026, he secured 75,952 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Professor Omar Faruk Chhata, who received 72,277 votes. The margin of victory stood at 3,775 votes.
Professor Omar Faruk Chhata contested under the scale symbol and is the son of Colonel Oli, chairman of the Liberal and Democratic Party (LDP) and a member of the 11-party alliance. The results were based on unofficial counts reported from the constituency.
