At least 30 people were injured in a violent clash between two groups over control of a shrine festival in Kalikapur, Habiganj. Police and army personnel intervened to restore order. Local sources reported that Awami League activists previously controlled the festival, but after Sheikh Hasina’s fall from power on August 5, BNP leaders attempted to take charge. The latest clash erupted between two rival groups led by Jubo Dal leader Nazrul Gazi and BNP’s Baghasura Union Secretary Sajidul Islam Sajal.
