Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moin Khan said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is implementing election promises one by one, drawing inspiration from Islamic ideals. He made the remarks on Wednesday, August 26, as chief guest at a prayer and Milad gathering marking Eid-e-Miladunnabi at Palash উপজেলা Multipurpose Auditorium.
Moin Khan described Eid-e-Miladunnabi as a sacred day for Muslims worldwide and said the teachings of Prophet Muhammad should guide efforts for human welfare and global peace. He called for following the Quran and Hadith, and said the Prophet’s examples of coexistence, mutual rights and peaceful relations among people of different faiths remain relevant to national life.
He cited agricultural cards, family cards and assistance for poor and helpless people as examples of initiatives he said reflected Islamic teachings. He also said the government had provided grants for roads, educational institutions, mosques, madrasas and temples within six months. Earlier, he paid floral tribute at the graves of his parents at the family cemetery in Charnagardi.
