Poet Abdul Hai Sikder has filed a defamation case against Mahbub Morshed, the Managing Director of the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), along with two others. The court recorded the plaintiff’s statement and issued summons for the accused to appear on April 28. The other two accused are Khairul Alam and Asaduzzaman Asad, the latter being identified as a financial backer of the Awami League. Sikder alleged that the defendants made a false Facebook post claiming he had written poems in support of former dictator Ershad, linking Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina. “This is a complete fabrication. I have sought legal recourse to restore my honor,” he said.
