Japan Introduces New Policy on Job Changes for Foreign Workers

Japan is restructuring its training programs related to skill development for foreign workers. Under the new policy, foreign workers will be allowed to change jobs in certain previously restricted sectors after working for two years at their first workplace. However, the new job must remain within the same industry. This will apply to seven out of the seventeen sectors covered under the skill development program, according to Japan Today.
