Applications for Refugee and Political Asylum from Bangladesh Keep Rising

In the UK, citizens from ten countries have filed the highest number of political asylum applications up to June this year, with Bangladesh ranking fifth. According to the relevant department, 87% of Bangladeshis arriving in the UK, instead of holding visas or legal residency, have applied for political asylum, with most entering the country illegally. Similarly, in another European country, Italy, asylum applications are also rising at an alarming rate. This year, the Italian government has taken immediate action on applications from at least 16,000 Bangladeshis.
