The Directorate of Madrasa Education has handed over four cheques covering the government-funded MPO portion of August salaries and allowances for teachers and employees of private madrasas under its jurisdiction. The information was announced in a notice issued by the directorate’s finance branch on Monday.

The notice was signed by Muhammad Mozammel Hossain Khan, director for administration and finance at the directorate. It said the cheques were delivered to the head offices of distributing Agrani Bank and Rupali Bank, as well as local offices of Janata Bank and Sonali Bank.

Teachers and employees will be able to withdraw the government portion of their August salaries and allowances from their respective banks after September. The notice describes the payment as the MPO component of monthly remuneration for staff at private madrasas under the directorate.
