A Dhaka court has ordered the imprisonment of content creator Aminur Shah after his arrest in Nawabganj on charges of making derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on social media. The order was issued on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, by Senior Judicial Magistrate Afroza Sultana Sweety. Police presented Aminur before the court and sought his detention, which the court approved.

According to case details, on Monday, April 27, Aminur allegedly posted offensive comments about the Prophet that hurt religious sentiments and provoked anger among local worshippers. The incident reportedly created tension in the area, raising fears of possible unrest. Following a complaint filed by a local resident named Alauddin, police arrested Aminur from the Mahishdia area of Nawabganj.

The case highlights growing concerns over online content that may inflame religious sensitivities and disrupt public order, prompting law enforcement to act swiftly in such matters.
