Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Shakhawat Hossain announced that efforts have begun to free the health sector from syndicates and corruption, assuring that the public will soon see positive results. He also stated that the administration has been instructed to take necessary measures to build a country free from drugs, gambling, and terrorism. The minister made these remarks on Saturday morning during a press briefing following a meeting with government officials at the Belabo Upazila hall room in Narsingdi.
The meeting was attended by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Hafsa Nadia, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Aziz Sartaj Zayed, Officer-in-Charge SM Amanullah, local BNP leaders, and health officials including Dr. Syeda Tanzina Afrin Eva. The minister also received floral greetings from the Belabo Press Club, Muktijoddha Sangsad, and party organizations.
He emphasized the need for unity to revitalize the country’s fragile economy, which he attributed to misrule under the previous government.
