HSC examinees held a sit-in protest in front of the Cumilla Education Board on Tuesday morning at Kandirpar Pubali Square. Students from various institutions joined the demonstration to press three demands: suspension of SSC exams until the ongoing disaster fully ends, a retake for those unable to attend the July 13 exam, and a public apology from Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon within 24 hours.

During the protest, the students attempted to march toward Cumilla Support, prompting Adarsha Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Fatematuz Zohra and Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Touhidul Anwar to speak with them. Several students expressed frustration over having to attend exams in waist-deep water and said the adverse weather had severely affected their performance.

The protest followed widespread anger among students and parents after examinees at Cumilla Government Women’s College were forced to wade through floodwater to reach exam centers. Many blamed the education minister for inadequate oversight during the crisis.
