Bangladesh’s Law Minister Md. Anisul Huq issued a stern warning to those in Delhi calling for surrender, stating that under existing Bangladeshi law, there is no provision for their surrender. Speaking at the National Parliament on Tuesday during a discussion titled “Trial of the July Uprising and Mass Killing,” he said that those individuals are convicted criminals and will be arrested immediately upon entering Bangladesh. The session was presided over by Deputy Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal.

Referring indirectly to Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, the minister said that despite attempts to exploit divisions within the country, the government will not allow the return or rehabilitation of what he termed the “fascist Awami League.” He emphasized that every threat from abroad would only strengthen national unity.

The minister also reported progress in the investigation of the July killings, noting that 16 investigations have been completed, 12 reports submitted, and charges framed in four cases. Verdicts have already been delivered in three cases, including those related to the killings of Abu Sayeed and Hasanul Haq Inu.
