A large protest and rally were held in Kashiani, Gopalganj, on Tuesday demanding the death penalty for a man accused of making derogatory remarks about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on Facebook. The event took place at the Shaheed Minar square, organized by the Kashiani Olama Oikya Parishad, and drew participation from local residents, religious scholars, and teachers from various madrasas.

According to the report, the accused, Jaglul Haider Shahin of Pona village, had posted obscene and offensive content about the Prophet and his wives, sparking outrage among local Muslims. Following public protests, police arrested him. Speakers at the rally, including the parishad president Maulana Abdul Karim, condemned recurring incidents of religious insult and warned that such protests could spread nationwide.

Participants urged the government and administration to take strict measures to prevent similar incidents and called for vigilance against domestic and foreign elements allegedly trying to destabilize social harmony.
