Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf met with the head of Hamas’s advisory Shura Council on the sidelines of the funeral of Iran’s former supreme leader, according to state media IRNA. During the meeting, Ghalibaf emphasized the importance of using diplomacy to preserve military achievements and strengthen Iran’s position in the Middle East.

He stated that diplomatic processes should be supported by strong defense capabilities to ensure lasting success. Addressing ongoing talks with the United States, Ghalibaf said Iran has insisted that any agreement must include provisions safeguarding regional countries’ territorial integrity and halting military actions against Iran’s allies.

The meeting highlights Tehran’s continued engagement with regional allies amid sensitive diplomatic negotiations and efforts to balance military and political strategies in the region.
