At Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, 61 passengers of a Malaysia-bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight failed to board after collecting their boarding passes. The incident occurred on Saturday night when flight BG-386 departed without 76 passengers. Immigration officials had earlier offloaded 10 passengers and stopped five others at the boarding gate due to visa discrepancies. Following the detection of fake visas, dozens of passengers disappeared from the airport.

Airport sources said the passengers were likely attempting to travel illegally under a scheme known locally as “body contract,” involving forged or mismatched travel documents. Intelligence officials suspect a network that may include airline and airport staff facilitated the process. Most of the passengers were reportedly seeking employment in Malaysia using tourist visas.

Authorities, including the airport’s executive director and intelligence agencies, are investigating the incident to identify those involved. Police’s Special Branch noted that some travelers were exploiting the potential reopening of Malaysia’s labor market to enter the country illegally.
