Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman called the July mass uprising a turning point in Bangladesh’s history. He reiterated the army's commitment to realizing the dreams of the uprising’s heroes. "With our motto—‘In war, in peace, always for the nation’—the Bangladesh Army will always stand by the country’s welfare," he said at a reception for July uprising veterans. He urged unity in upholding patriotism, nationalism, integrity, humanity, and discipline to propel Bangladesh toward prosperity.
