India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has forcibly repatriated 10 Bangladeshi nationals—mostly women and children—through the Panihata border in Sherpur’s Nalitabari upazila. The individuals had initially traveled to Faridabad, Delhi, two years ago for the cancer treatment of a relative, Amjad Ali, who later passed away. They remained in India as laborers but were recently detained for lacking proper documentation. After being held in Guwahati, they were handed over to BSF and subsequently pushed back into Bangladesh. All are residents of Shahajadpur in Satkhira’s Tala upazila and have since been handed over to local police.
