Barrister Rumin Farhana has been unofficially elected as an independent candidate from the Brahmanbaria-2 constituency, which includes Sarail, Ashuganj, and part of Bijoynagar, in the 13th National Parliamentary Election. According to the unofficial results announced after vote counting on February 13, 2026, she secured 117,495 votes under the duck symbol, defeating her nearest rival, Allama Junaid Al Habib of the BNP-led alliance, who received 79,009 votes. The margin of victory stood at 37,568 votes.

The election was held across 151 polling centers with a total of 499,448 registered voters. The results were confirmed unofficially by Sarail Upazila Executive Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Md. Abubakar Sarkar. The outcome marks a significant upset in the constituency, where Rumin Farhana’s strong independent performance has drawn attention.

The official confirmation of the results is expected following the completion of all procedural verifications by the Election Commission.
