The Election Commission of Bangladesh has decided to withhold the announcement of results for three constituencies—Sherpur-2, Chattogram-2, and Chattogram-4—despite the completion of the 13th National Parliamentary Election results. The decision was made because court cases are pending against the winning candidates in these constituencies. The commission issued three separate letters on Thursday confirming the suspension of result announcements until the legal proceedings are resolved.

According to the commission’s letters, Chattogram-4 candidate Mohammad Aslam Chowdhury, Chattogram-2 candidate Sarowar Alamgir, and Sherpur-2 candidate Mohammad Fahim Chowdhury were allowed to contest the election following orders from the Appellate Division on February 3, 2026. However, the final results for these constituencies will remain suspended until the respective cases reach final judgment.

The Election Commission stated that the suspension is a legal requirement under the current circumstances, ensuring that the final outcomes depend on the court’s decisions.
