A cocktail explosion was reported at the Krishnanagar Union BNP office in Kaliganj, Satkhira, on Friday night around 10:30 p.m. According to local BNP leaders, the blast occurred shortly after they had locked the office and were sitting nearby. No injuries or property damage were reported following the incident.

Union BNP vice president Idris Ali stated that he and several others were present near the office when they heard the explosion and found a small fire inside. Joint secretary Rezaul Islam alleged that opposition groups carried out the act to tarnish the government’s image. Police from Kaliganj station and BNP leaders visited the site soon after the explosion.

BNP activists held a protest march in Krishnanagar market the same night, condemning the incident and demanding that those responsible be identified and punished. Kaliganj police officer-in-charge Jewel Hossain confirmed that an investigation is underway and legal action will follow based on the findings.
