Political parties across the country have reached a consensus in principle to expand subordinate courts at the Upazila (sub-district) level. However, they opined that there is no need to establish courts in Upazilas located close to district headquarters. This agreement was made during a dialogue held at the Foreign Service Academy. The proposal emphasized transforming local courts to bring the justice system closer to the public, appointing senior assistant judges and magistrates, and expanding legal aid services. Some parties also suggested setting a clear timeline for implementation.
