Teachers and staff of the mosque-based child and mass education project besieged the Planning Commission demanding unpaid salaries. The protest, involving 84,000 workers, was suspended after assurances from the Planning Secretary. Prior to this, protesters had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Adviser. Their grievance stems from a recommendation to exclude five months of unpaid salaries in a revised proposal for the now-concluded project. Protesters are demanding full payment before Eid-ul-Adha.
