National Citizen Party (NCP) leader and Inquilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi remains under intensive observation following surgery after being shot in Dhaka on Friday. NCP joint member secretary and Dhaka-9 candidate Dr. Tasnim Zara told reporters outside Evercare Hospital that Hadi’s organs are functioning and no further surgery is expected for now. She confirmed that his condition is critical but stable under close medical supervision.

Dr. Zara appealed to supporters not to gather at the hospital, citing the need for a calm environment for treatment. She also criticized law enforcement for failing to arrest the attackers, calling it an administrative failure. The shooting occurred near Bijoynagar Kalvert Road after Friday prayers, when Hadi was preparing for campaign activities. He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital before being transferred to Evercare for surgery.

Authorities have yet to identify the assailants, and political observers warn the incident could heighten tensions ahead of the upcoming election period.
