BNP candidates have filed petitions in the High Court challenging the results of two constituencies from Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Election. In Sirajganj-4, BNP candidate M Akbar Ali contested the victory of Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Rafiqul Islam Khan. In Comilla-11, BNP’s Kamrul Huda challenged the win of Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher. Both petitions seek recounts of votes in their respective constituencies.

The hearings on these petitions are being conducted by a single bench led by Justice Md Zakir Hossain. According to Section 49 of the Representation of the People Order, the High Court’s election tribunal will hear the cases concerning alleged electoral irregularities.

In the Comilla-11 seat, Taher received 133,308 votes while Huda secured 76,638. In Sirajganj-4, Rafiqul Islam Khan won with 161,872 votes against Akbar Ali’s 161,278. The petitions aim to verify the accuracy of these results through official recounts.
