Bangladesh has launched its first-ever skin bank at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit. The initiative was inaugurated on Sunday by Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, Dr. Sayedur Rahman. Already, skin from four donors has been transplanted onto two severely injured patients, bringing new hope for critical burn victims. Relatives of the patients reported positive recovery. Experts say the initiative will be life-saving, especially for those who lack sufficient healthy skin for grafting, significantly reducing mortality risks.
