An exchange of gunfire occurred around 3:30 AM between members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the Proshid-led faction of the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) in Tong Para, a border area of Matiranga in Khagrachari. No casualties were reported. BGB recovered two rifles, a pistol, a shotgun, and 16 rounds of ammunition from the scene. The UPDF has denied involvement, stating their commitment to democratic politics.
