A man known locally as a militant, identified as Jitu (35), died after being seriously wounded during an incident at a house in Barandipara, Fulthala Mor, Jashore late Wednesday night when the homeowner resisted an alleged extortion and attempted sexual assault. Police received a 999 emergency alert and found Jitu injured; he was admitted to Jashore General Hospital and later referred to Dhaka for advanced treatment before dying en route in Tularampur, Narail.

Two other victims, Sukuran Begum (52) and her son Sumon Hossain (28), were also injured during the confrontation and remain under treatment at Jashore General Hospital. Sukuran told hospital staff that Jitu forced his way into their home, demanded money from her son, attacked Sumon with a sharp weapon when refused, and later attempted to sexually assault her daughter-in-law, prompting her to strike him with a cleaver in self-defense. Police say Jitu had multiple cases pending and was listed in police records as a local terrorist.

The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for postmortem and will be released to the family after legal procedures; Kotwali police say a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
